Dr. Vinod Raina is one of India’s most senior and respected medical oncologists, with more than 40 years of experience in medical oncology, haematology and cancer treatment. He currently serves as Chairman – Oncosciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, where he leads the hospital’s comprehensive cancer programme.

He specializes in the treatment of adult solid tumours and haematological malignancies, including breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, genitourinary cancers, gynaecological cancers, lymphomas and multiple myeloma. His treatment approach includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy and stem cell transplantation.

Dr. Raina is particularly known for his extensive experience in bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. He has personally performed approximately 400 transplant procedures for different cancers and blood disorders, representing one of the largest individual transplant experiences reported among medical oncologists in India.

Before joining Fortis, Dr. Raina served as Professor & Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. His long academic career at AIIMS, combined with decades of tertiary-care clinical experience, has established him as a leading authority in Indian oncology.

He joined Fortis Memorial Research Institute in 2013 as Director & Head – Medical Oncology & Haematology. He became Executive Director in 2017 and was subsequently appointed Chairman of Oncosciences at Fortis Healthcare.
