Dr. Uma Mallaiah

Dr. Uma Mallaiah is a highly experienced Ophthalmologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, with more than 23 years of clinical and surgical expertise in comprehensive eye care. She is internationally trained and widely respected for her work in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, refractive (LASIK) surgery, and oculoplasty (eyelid surgery).

She completed her MBBS from Bangalore University and went on to obtain DNB in Ophthalmology from Christian Medical College (CMC), one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions. Dr. Mallaiah further enhanced her surgical skills through advanced training in the United Kingdom, earning the highly regarded FRCS (London) and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

With a strong surgical track record, Dr. Mallaiah has successfully performed 3,500+ cataract surgeries and 500+ glaucoma surgeries, achieving consistently excellent visual outcomes. She has also contributed to Apollo Hospitals’ international expansion by helping establish an Eye Department in Dubai, reflecting her leadership in developing globally benchmarked ophthalmic services.
