Dr. Amit Rastogi

Dr. Amit Rastogi is one of India’s senior and highly experienced Liver Transplant and HPB Surgeons, currently serving as Chairman – Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery at PSRI Hospital, New Delhi. With more than 25 years of experience across India’s top academic and corporate centres, he has played a major role in the development and growth of modern liver transplantation programs in India.

He has been closely associated with India’s pioneering liver transplant teams and has participated in approximately 4,500 liver transplants, including highly complex living donor cases. His core expertise includes living donor liver transplantation (LDLT), small-incision donor and recipient surgery, complex hepatic resections, advanced HPB surgery, GI oncosurgery, and renal transplant exposure.

Prior to joining PSRI, he held senior leadership positions including Director – Liver Transplant at Medanta, Gurugram and Chairman – Institute of Liver & GI Surgery at Paras Health, Gurugram. His long tenure in high-volume transplant centres positions him among the most experienced liver transplant surgeons in India.

Dr. Rastogi completed his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), Varanasi, followed by a DNB in General Surgery. He further specialized with a Fellowship in Liver Transplant Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

He currently serves as Chairman – Liver Transplant & HPB Surgery at PSRI Hospital. Previously, he held leadership roles as Director – Liver Transplant at Medanta, Gurugram, and Chairman – Institute of Liver & GI Surgery at Paras Health. He is also a Founder Member & Treasurer of the Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI).
